20.367 mq / 134,000 s.f. - Completed 2005
This facility houses 134,000 s.f. of program for 1,200 students. The design process resulted in a stepped, one to three story, "U" shaped plan with a campus "common. The community oriented functions (i.e., library, administration, and multi-purpose) are placed as a triangular node at the main campus entry. The classrooms are primarily oriented north to south with sun shading devices allowing maximum daylighting. Mechanical duct shafts which are commonly placed in fire rated shafts within the building envelope were placed to the exterior eliminating the need for the interior rated shafts. In addition, these exterior shafts act as vertical sun protection. This project was designed by Steve Fierce, AIA during his tenure as Senior Designer at Gonzalez|Goodale Architects.
